Using the "Drum Pad" view with an external IAA Drum App

Postby timfoster » Tue Aug 09, 2016 10:38 pm

Is there any way to force an external IAA drum app (in this case DrumStudio) to be registered as a Drum Kit within MusicStudio's Instrument browser?

I'm using CoreMIDI to trigger sounds from DrumStudio via MusicStudio's Drum Pads -- but since MusicStudio doesn't recognize this as a "drum specific" app I'm unable to trigger single notes with the pads... Instead they're defaulting to "chord" mode and triggering multiple drum hits/notes per pad. Is there any workaround for this aside from deleting the unwanted notes after-the-fact (or using the keyboard to program/trigger drums?) If not I think it would be a great feature to add for anyone using external drum apps alongside MusicStudio.

Thanks,
Tim

No, that's not possible with Music Studio 2.6.5. But it's a good suggestion, I never thought of it! I added "Drum pads for Inter-App Audio instruments" to the list:
