Bug: No Preview Along With User Defined Beats Files

Postby Android_Fan » Mon Aug 07, 2017 6:04 pm

Hello,

I wrote earlier, that you cannot save your song as a beat file directly. But obvious it's not the full truth:
You cannot save the whole song with all its tracks as a beat file by just using Music Studio 2 - that's right. But Music Studio 2 already provides to save the percussion tracks of projects as beat files. If a project has percussion tracks, we can select the beat folder and save the project there. By doing so, Music Studio automatically will create a beat file instead of a xms file. But no track except the percussion tracks will be left in that file (= it's unfortunately merely considered as a beat file and not as a template ;) ).

So far so good. BUT:
If you tap on a standard beat file, you'll hear a preview of it. Not so, if you tap on your own beat file. I'm wondering why not.

Marc

That's because the previews of the factory beats are pre-rendered audio files. When you hear a preview, Music Studio doesn't actually open the beat file, it just plays a separate preview audio file. For user created beats, there are not preview audio files of course.
Some day in the distant future, we might ditch the preview files and implement a proper preview player that actually loads the beats (same for MIDI files, which cannot be previewed).
