Adjust a beat to load at 1/2 speed?

Hey all. I have a song at a tempo I like. I want to load a beat, however, when I do it loads it 2x as fast as I want it to. Is there an easy way to load this so that it is 1/2 as fast?
Thanks.

Which file format is your beat, MIDI (.mid) or audio (.wav, .mp3 etc.)?
Music Studio can't change the speed of audio files, you would have to use other apps (an audio editor) to change the speed and then import the resulting file into Music Studio.

The beat I'm loading is one of the templates included with Music Studio in the "Projects" folder. So it would be MIDI. And I can't just change the default tempo, because I have audio files, and the tempo is, actually, accurate.

Is there no way to load these preset beats at the proper or an alternative length/speed? Or change the MIDI drum track to spread everything out twice as far without doing it manually?

Thanks for your reply.

Now I see what you mean, you want to apply a MIDI filter that changes a selection of MIDI notes to half or double tempo. Sorry, but Music Studio doesn't have this feature. I've added "MIDI filters (for example half tempo)" to the list at viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2409

Ok thank you. Without this feature, the pre-installed beats are basically worthless to me, unless I start with the beat and record audio over top of that to make sure I have the tempo in a way that works with the beat. But that is really a backwards workflow for my music creation process. Anyway, thank you!

As a work round you could make a wav file of the midi beat at an appropriate tempo

Then import the wav of the beat into your project.
