General discussion about Music Studio.

Revolutionary App

Postby DOuimet » Thu Jul 08, 2010 4:42 pm

Music Studio is an APP that has ushered in a new era in the way we look at making music.
Just mind-blowing.

I have little criticism as its a nearly perfect tool for composing pocket symphonies.
The one suggestion is the ability to play the piano in the piano roll editor. Perhaps
it is possible, its just not clear how to trigger the keys.

Other than that, I'm in awe of this extraordinary technological leap in portable music making.

Agreeing with all of the above. =)

For piano roll playing, one would probably need an extra button or switch since it's primarily used for vertical scrolling. Luckily there is still some space left on the bottom panel. Though I'm not sure if it's not going to be used for something else... let's see what Alex has to say.

Thanks DOuimet! Is the audio feedback not sufficient when moving notes in the piano roll editor? In which situations would you want to play a key in the editor?

Or do you mean an additional input method like setting the length and then tapping the key?

It's always a nice bonus to have that, but personally, I would only need the piano roll playing if there was a step-sequencing feature.

True enough, only with step editing would it be crucial.
