ADAT & MIDI

Postby Unknown Crewman » Fri Nov 25, 2016 1:36 pm

Hi,

could you recommend a device providing ADAT and MIDI, that could be used with Music Studio on an iPAD 2 and newer?

The 4 devices mentioned at http://lists.linuxaudio.org/pipermail/l ... 06773.html seem to work with iPADs. However, do you have experiences with using ADAT and at the same time using MIDI, too?

Regards,
Ralf

Ummm... I am not really sure if there is a promising solution for the same for iOS devices.

Of the 4 devices in the list I only know the Focusrite Scarlett series. I once tested Music Studio with the Scarlett 18i6 getestet, recording 8 mono tracks (or 4 stereo tracks) worked fine. However, I never tried (or even noticed) the ADAT port.

Music Studio on an iPAD 2 and newer?

If you have an iPad Air 2, that's fine, it's fast. But if you have the iPad 2 of 2011, you may get to its performance limit (regarding disk writing) by recording more than 4 tracks simultaneously.
