MIDI command for sustain pedal and Modulation wheel

Postby RezaYazdi604 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 5:18 am

What are the MIDI commands I need to send to MusicStudio to activate the "sustain pedal button" and "modulation wheel"? I can activate them on my iPad but I want to send them from my MIDI keypad?

I use 0x09 for NoteOn and 0x08 for NoteOff

Thanks

I believe I found the wheel command is 0xE0, correct?
What is the command for the sustain pedal to be activated (pressed)?

***correction in the previous post: NoteOn is 0x90 and NoteOff is 0x80

No worries! Thanks to google I found the answer to my question

MIDI command (0xB0, 0x40, 0x40)

0xB0 is the Control Change command
0x40 (64) Damper Pedal (Sustain On or Off)
Any value less or equal to 0x3F (63) will have the pedal off
Any value more or equal to 0x40 (64) will turn the pedal ON

Have fun!

Correct!

The second value (in your example 0x40 = 64) specifies the MIDI CC number. Sustain is 64, modulation is 1, volume is 7, pan is 10. Here's more info:
