As our first official competition, we're looking for the best Christmas song!
Rules
- Original compositions only, you must be the composer and copyright holder of your song. Songs that contain any copyrighted material (melodies, samples, audio tracks...) will be deleted.
- Songs must be posted as .xms files. If it contains audio tracks, post it as a .zip file that includes all required .wav files (Export -> ZIP -> Include audio files).
Additionally, post a link to your exported song, e.g. at SoundCloud, or a wav file uploaded to Dropbox or posted here. - Songs can make use of free instruments, instruments that are available in the shop, and user instruments. If it requires one or more user instruments, post the .instr file here - or even better, here: viewforum.php?f=10
- Songs can contain audio tracks, but they must not contain only audio tracks recorded from other apps. This competition should showcase Music Studio's sounds (and not its audio track mixing capabilities). If the song contains audio tracks, post it as a .zip file that includes all required .wav files.
- Entry deadline is the 22nd of December 2014, 2:22 GMT.
- The Music Studio development team will vote and the winners will be announced on the 22nd of December 2014.
Prices
- 1st place: An iOS app of your choice (max. price must be less than $50)
- 2nd place: A redeem code for Music Studio and 50in1 Piano (iPhone or HD version)
- 3rd place: A redeem code for 50in1 Piano (iPhone or HD version)

No, you can use shop and user instruments:
"... If it requires user instruments, post the .instr file here - or even better, here: viewforum.php?f=10"
You can use Audio tracks too, as long as it's not just a project full of audio tracks that were recorded from other apps, of course.

Re: Xmas song competition
Hi Alex
My name is Paco.
You had a great idea.
Last year I put a post with a Christmas march. In Spain we have a great musical tradition: here we call them "villancicos"
I have two questions: some size limit? If a prize is won, it would be possible to donate?

Re: Xmas song competition
some size limit?
The song shouldn't be much longer than 5min. I don't want to hold my development team up for too long

If the size exceeds the forum upload size (50mb if I remember correctly), upload it to Dropbox (or a similar Cloud service) and post the link.
If a prize is won, it would be possible to donate?
Do you mean that you would want to donate your price to someone else? That's possible.
Or do you mean that you would want the value of the price in cash? That's not possible.

Re: Xmas song competition
So where do we upload the song at? And if the answer is Soundcloud, how will you guys know that I'm in the competition? (Are we supposed to use a certain hashtag?)

Re: Xmas song competition
See point (2) at the top of this page. In short, upload an exported version to SoundCloud or wherever you like, but post the .xms project file (or zip if includes audio files and/or user instruments) here.
