Sampletank virtual midi driving me crazy!

Postby Bob Fossil » Mon Jul 04, 2016 8:07 pm

Hi! Can anyone help?

I've been trying to get sampletank to read a midi track in MS, without success. Got midi output on, have tried every channel and port without success. I can get igrand and Korg module to work fine but not sampletank. It just doesn't seem to work with virtual midi and is driving me potty.

Is this a problem with MS, or sampletank, or me being a dimwit? Can anyone help??

Does anyone know if midibridge would work?

Thanks

Bob

Did you turn on the midi out on music studio or did you turn it on at sampletank?
Visit johnmichaelvillaber.bandcamp.com for background music

On music studio. I don't think sampletank has any options for changing midi settings. This is on iPhone by the way...

Cheers

If you want Music Studio to play just one SampleTank instrument, the simplest way is Inter-App Audio. Add a MIDI track, go to the Instruments tab, select the Inter-App folder and select SampleTank.
http://www.xewton.com/musicstudio/doc/?id=13#Inter-App_Audio

If you want multiple Music Studio tracks to play multiple SampleTank instruments, CoreMIDI is the way:
  • Double tap the home button and swipe all audio related apps up to quit them.
  • Launch Music Studio and SampleTank
  • Enable Background audio in both apps
  • Enable MIDI input in SampleTank
  • In Music Studio, create a few MIDI tracks, don’t select SampleTank but any internal instrument like Grand Piano 1
  • Set the volume of all tracks to 0%
  • Enable MIDI output, set Port to "all" and set the channel to “TRACKS” here:
    http://www.xewton.com/musicstudio/doc/?id=10#MIDI_ports_.26_channels_popup
  • A note played on track 1 is now sent to MIDI channel 1, track 2 to channel 2 and so on.
  • All that’s left to do is to configure SampleTank to play different instruments on different MIDI channels.
