Audio not audible on playback.

Postby BaldySlaphead » Mon Aug 22, 2016 12:51 pm

Recording a bassline (real bass) via an iRig-style connector, I recorded the piece in three sections, each on a separate track. The set up was identical for each of the sections.

I'm now finding that when trying to play the piece back, as it reaches the second section, it's not playing; to get it to play, I have to turn the solo button on and off.

Is this a known issue?

I'd prefer to keep the bassline in three sections as I work on it, so while I could just mix it down, it's not really ideal.

I don't think that's an issue. If you solo a track that's the only track that will play

If no track has solo enabled, all tracks should play. If that's not the case, it's a bug (which I cannot reproduce).

Which device model and OS version do you have?
Do you have the latest version of Music Studio, which is 2.6.5 on iOS or 2.0.2 on Android?

To confirm, no tracks are muted or soloed. The first section of bass (audio track 1) is fine, to get the second section (audio track 2) to be audible, I have to toggle the solo button on then off.

iPhone 5S, latest version of Music Studio.

Does this only happen directly after audio recording, or do you have to turn solo on & off even after loading the project? If the latter is the case, please email the project to me at support@xewton.com. In the Projects screen, tap Share, select Email, and check the "Compress (zip)" option.

Alex has sorted my problem - polyphony set too low. Many thanks to him for realising what the issue was!

I'm glad that it works now :)

Lots of MIDI notes on the other tracks used a lot of polyphony and there wasn't enough left for the audio tracks.
