Play guitar without recording

Hey musicstudio, I had a doubt. Is there a way to hear the guitar with the song loop on while its not recording. Coz i only hear the guitar sound when i start the recording i.e only while recording. N i get better ideas when music is on. Like a live jam..??! Thanks
