We just released Music Studio 2.4 which includes 52 instruments from the SSO :)

I just wanted you to know that we didn't copy Maarten's work. We spent weeks editing the original SSO samples, cutting, tuning, setting loop points and reducing the instrument sizes while keeping the quality as high as possible. We also compiled full 7 octave strings ("Orchestral Strings" legato, staccato and pizzicato) and created a percussion kit with all the non-chromatic percussion samples.

So special thanks go to Maarten1978 for bringing this gorgeous sample library to our attention, we think it greatly enhances Music Studio!

Thanks Maarten!

I guess about 40. All 52 of them require 405mb samples to load into memory (RAM) which is close to the limit where iOS terminates an app automatically. The iPad Air could handle much more in theory, but iOS restricts the memory per app.

Wow,

Thank you for your reply.

Have you tried buying sounds in wav file format,

And then import them one by one to Music studio?

(You know, Create intrument-Import Audio-...)

I would like to do that with drums.

Do you recommend me to do so?

(Of course, I'm only talking about me using them, not sharing it)

You don't need these custom instruments anymore, they're already included with Music Studio :)
It's the "Symphonic" folder in the Instruments tab.
